Citizen titanium watch bringing titanium metal in watches for the entire world

Citizen titanium watch is designed, manufactured and distributed by what is now known as the Citizen Holdings Co., Ltd. which is the principal constituent of a global Japanese corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Citizen is today involved in more diverse products than simply watches, this sector representing lest than 40% of the company's turnout, as the corporation is involved also in general consumer electronics, jewelry, eyeglass frames and health care products.

Citizen pocket watch

The company was originally founded as the Shokosha Watch Research Institute in 1918. Its first watch was produced in 1924, in the form of a pocket watch. It was the Mayor of Tokyo, Shimpei Goto, who named the watch "CITIZEN", thus establishing the brand, with the hope that the watch, a luxury item of those times, would become widely available to ordinary citizens and be sold throughout the world. I doubt he had any idea about the citizen titanium watch, though.

During its history, Citizen has established some breakthroughs, such as the first Japanese wristwatch with shock absorption, as back as 1956 and the world's thinnest light powered watch, the Stiletto

The proprietary Citizen eco drive technology allows the watch to be perpetually operated through a solar charged battery that derives sufficiently light from the natural exposure of a solar panel positioned behind the watch window at natural and artificial environment light. Though it’s not singular in the watch market, it is usually present in most of citizen titanium watches.

There are many pieces to choose from in the citizen titanium watch line. Here is the full list.

CITIZEN CALIBRE 2100, MODEL AV0021 – 52H

The Citizen Calibre 2100 series is trying to be a hybrid between a dedicated sport watch and a more classical, day to day watch. The company retained a more delicate and slim design in order to preserve the later, and added the chronograph and some wear and tear resistant properties to enhance the first. It usually retails around $500.

CITIZEN PROMASTER SST, MODELS JW0030-55E and JW0035-51E

The PROMASTER SST series is a sport dedicated collection, this being accentuated by traits such as the chronograph ability to measure in 1/1000th seconds and the huge case – possibly the largest frame of a mass marketed watch - assorted with the heavy and reliable bracelet. It is somewhat expensive, with price ranging from $800 for the 55E, and more than $1500 for the 51E.

CITIZEN CORSO, MODEL BM 8120-56E

The Corso is a more affordable series, with the 56E, being the only citizen titanium watch in it. It also includes both ladies and men wristwatches. It operates on Citizen eco drive technology, and retails at about $200.

CITIZEN PERPETUAL CALENDAR, MODEL BL5250-02L

This citizen eco drive titanium watch has a perpetual calendar function included (doh…); meaning it automatically changes the number of years from the most recent leap year, month, date and day until February 28, 2100 including leap years, without the need of readjustments. Giving the normal human lifespan, its perpetual designation is not without merits. Its retail price is about $400.

CITIZEN ECO-DRIVE, MODELS BM6560-54H and EW1400-53H

The Citizen eco drive series it’s the core series that was used to market the eco drive technology. The watches are classy and affordable with price ranging around $ 300. The two titanium models in it were the spearhead for the next series.

CITIZEN ECO-DRIVE WR100 TITANIUM

This is practically a subclass of the citizen eco drive WR 100 Series, which is another rather mass market oriented series of Citizen watches. They differentiate especially by material used and retail around $200 and $400. The BM6260 58L, BM 6060 – 57F, BM 8290 – 05E are the principal citizen eco drive titanium wristwatches that are included in this series, along with the chronograph models AT0890-56E and AT0940-50E.

CITIZEN AQUALAND, MODELS BJ2060-58E and JP1040-09E

The Aqualand series is oriented toward the professional diver and includes many specific functions, such as a depth sensor, a maximum depth memory and special attention has been given to those details that make the difference in diving conditions – oversized display to attenuate poor visibility and a limited time chronograph, for instance. Its retail price is around $700.

Apart from the watches available in the Aqualand series, Citizen also designed a limited collection 1000 METER PROFESSIONAL DIVER watch, available in titanium case, which retails at about $2000.

CITIZEN SKYHAWK, SKYHAWK – AT, BLUE SKYHAWK

This series is intended to deliver all possible information, through all the possible means. It features both analogical and digital displays, it can show the precise time and date in 22 time zones and 30 cities, and it has a chronograph and a countdown timer (yikes!). It is possible the best watch you can have on your wrist in a 2012 scenario. It displays four titanium models – JR3060-59F, JY0050-55L, JY0010-50E and JR3090-58L, which all retail at about $ 800.
